If you’re employed by a business, nonprofit, or government agency, you’ve likely had the opportunity to participate in a workplace giving initiative. These programs—often organized annually by employers—allow staff to support charitable causes, commonly through automatic payroll deductions or other convenient donation options.

Matching Gifts
Matching gifts are a type of workplace giving benefit where an employer donates to a charity in response to an employee’s personal contribution. In simple terms, when you give to a nonprofit, your company may “match” that gift—often dollar for dollar—effectively doubling the impact of your donation.

Matching gifts are a powerful way for you to increase your impact without giving more out of pocket. Check with your employer to see if a matching gift program exists at your company!

Combined Federal Campaign
The Combined Federal Campaign (often called the CFC) is the official workplace giving program for U.S. federal employees and retirees. It allows them to support approved charitable organizations through payroll deductions, one-time gifts, or other donation methods. The CFC is one of the largest and longest-running workplace giving programs in the world. Each year during its annual campaign, federal employees can choose from thousands of vetted nonprofits and pledge donations directly from their paychecks, making it an easy and consistent way to give.

If you are a government employee or retiree, you can designate #10578 (Interstitial Cystitis Association) as your charity of choice. You can also talk with your spouse, family, and friends, and ask them to add the ICA to their CFC donor card.
