Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Awareness Month
April is IBS awareness month. About one-third of IC patients also have IBS, which is a functional bowel disorder in which abdominal pain or discomfort is associated with defecation or a change in bowel habits. Like IC, the cause of IBS is not understood, but many factors may contribute to symptoms, which vary from person to person.
