IP4IC Update
To help them develop the world’s first non-invasive urine test for diagnosing IC (similar to a pregnancy test), the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) partnered with Beaumont Hospital to obtain a large number of urine samples from both IC patients and health controls. The IP4IC study started on February 1 and by the end of April had collected over 390 samples from 46 states with more still arriving by mail. While Beaumont anticipates having the samples analyzed within 3 months of final collection, here’s an overview of the study and comments from participants:
