The ICA is pleased to partner with the Urology Care Foundation to support two Research Scholar Awards funded by the ICA. The competition for the 2016 Urology Care Foundation Research Scholar Awards is accepting applications! As part of the 27 awards available for the 2016 competition, the ICA desires to promote and support the career development of junior physician-scientists and researchers by offering two, one-year Research Scholar Awards:

• The first award will focus on novel and useful clinical, basic, or translational research in the area of interstitial cystitis. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: etiology of IC, serum or urine markers, treatment modalities, neurophysiology, pain management, and pregnancy and IC.
• The second award will focus on exploration into fundamental cause(s) of IC and treatments that will be useful in broad populations of IC patients instead of focusing on relief of a particular symptom set or the treatment/diagnosis of only a subpopulation of patients.

Preference for funding for both awards will be for MD applicants; however, should a qualified application from an MD applicant not be available, a qualified application from a PhD or other qualified applicant will be funded, if available.

The application deadline is September 9, 2015.
