IC Researchers on Front Line of COVID-19
Researchers at Beaumont Health System in Michigan working to develop the first objective diagnostic test for IC, have temporarily shifted gears to help address the COVID-19 pandemic, but will return to IC research later this year.
Dr. Michael Chancellor, Dr. Laura Lamb, and Sarah Bartolone shifted gears early this year to develop a rapid test for COVID-19 that can be interpreted by medical professionals without specialized training or equipment. The team plans to resume its Department of Defense-funded IC research, for which ICA will help crowdsource urine samples nationwide, in the fall.
