Spring is an exciting time when we often enjoy warmer weather and blooming flowers. Here at the ICA, we have our own excitement blooming as we get ready to launch our next exciting initiative. As a valued supporter of our mission to ensure efficient diagnosis and optimal care for people affected by IC/BPS through advocacy, education, and community, we are excited to share a new program—for patients and led by patients—that promises to bring hope and healing to our community: Voices of Hope.
Voices of Hope is a peer support program designed to create a safe and structured environment for IC/BPS patients to learn, connect, share experiences, and support one another. IC/BPS patient facilitators will foster small group discussions that allow participants to share challenges, find encouragement, and build lasting relationships that they so desperately need.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to make this invaluable program accessible to all patients at no cost. Your support is crucial in helping us launch Voices of Hope, and together, we can provide the resources necessary for patients to feel less isolated and more empowered in their journey.
This program has already made a difference in the lives of IC/BPS patients, with one participant noting, “Personally, it was incredibly relieving to share time with other IC women and to learn from your materials more about this condition. I was just diagnosed, and it was a shock to find a condition that seemed virtually unheard of - including within my medical community. I retired and was pretty despondent, thinking that "this was it" for my golden years. After my diagnosis, the future was bleak - I could not imagine another day, month, year living with such pain. Your project gave me such hope. It was incredibly informative. Also, it was amazing to spend time with others who have IC and were willing to share stories. This project was enlightening and hopeful. Thank you so much for taking this on and for including me.”
The impact of your support is real. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we are proud to offer:
- A comprehensive website (with over 2.4 million visits!) filled with trusted, up-to-date information about IC/BPS diagnosis, treatments, and management strategies.
- A monthly newsletter and a research digest that reaches over 25,000 individuals, translating complex scientific literature into clear, actionable insights, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care.
- An active online support community, with over 7,400 members, where patients can connect, share experiences, and find understanding from others who truly “get it.”
- A monthly speaker series, featuring expert-led discussions on topics relevant to managing IC/BPS and improving quality of life.
