Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program Now Accepting Applications
The funding opportunity announcements for the FY 2017 Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) have been released by the Department of Defense (DoD). And thanks to ICA’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, interstitial cystitis (IC) remains one of the congressionally directed topic areas. They need to receive applications worthy of funding to keep IC as a topic area. Since 1999, the PRMRP has supported research across the full range of science and medicine, with an underlying goal of enhancing the health and well-being of military service members, veterans, and beneficiaries. The PRMRP challenges the scientific and clinical communities to address the congressionally directed topic areas with original ideas that foster new directions in basic science and translational research; novel product development leading to improved therapeutic or diagnostic tools; or clinical trials that address an immediate clinical need.
