Interstitial Cystitis Research Toolkit
Announcements about interstitial cystitis (IC), bladder pain syndrome, painful bladder syndrome, and chronic pelvic pain research grants and other funding opportunities. We also include announcements about research into associated conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome, nocturia, and vulvodynia.
Help with Recruitment
Believing that clinical trials are vital for improving treatment options and quality of care for people with IC, the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) helps researchers to recruit study participants.
Urology Databases & Registries
NIH distributes databases or parts of databases from federally-funded studies--this offers a wealth of knowledge for scientists who are researching interstitial cystitis, symptoms of urgency, frequency and bladder pain, and related health conditions. The NIDDK Data Repository also analyzes stored data in response to inquiries, assists ongoing studies in preparing data.
Funded NIH Projects
The RePORT (Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tools) provides access to a variety of reporting tools, reports, data, and analyses of NIH research activities. Search "interstitial cystitis" to see current funding levels. The ICA continues to advocate for dedicated funding into the cause and better treatments for IC.
Unfunded NIH Projects
Do you have a research plan for a promising new IC treatment that made its way through peer review but did not receive funding? Here is a new pathway for you that may lead to potential funding and help you bring your interstitial cystitis or related project to fruition.
NIH Licensees & OIT Awardees
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Pipeline to Partnerships (P2P) is a virtual space for NIH licensees and NIH SBIR/STTR awardees to showcase technology and product development for an audience of potential strategic partners and investors. These grants have been key in helping scientists further evaluate potential IC treatments.
NIH & FDA Biomedical Inventions
A text mining tool that allows NIH to match the large NIH and FDA intramural invention portfolio with the biomedical industry marketplace. Search for interstitial cystitis and painful bladder pain inventions.
