General Information

Support Groups

The ICA is pleased to provide you with a list of IC Support Groups in the United States! This list includes many IC Support Groups led by people who volunteered their time and talents to the ICA for many years. Their commitment and dedication to IC patients is evident by their decision to continue their group meetings independent of the ICA. Because these groups are no longer affiliated with, nor funded by the ICA, we invite any and all IC Support Groups to announce their meetings on our web site. Obviously, this list is only in it’s infancy, and will continue to grow and grow.

If you know of an existing IC Support Group that is not on this list, please ask the leader to provide us with the following information:

    1. Name
    2. Group Location (City & State)
    3. Telephone Number & Best Time to Call
    4. E-mail Address
    5. Group Schedule & Meeting Place (Day & Time)

To protect the validity of this information, we ask that it be provided in writing either through e-mail (ICAMAIL@ICHELP.org) or snail mail (51 Monroe Street, Suite 1402, Rockville, MD 20850). We will gladly add this information to our listing. We are striving to make this list as comprehensive and as accurate as possible; therefore, we ask that you notify us immediately with news of newly-started IC Support Groups or news of changes to existing group information from our current listing.

The ICA is excited to be able to begin this registry of IC Support Groups and hopes that it will continually grow to include all quality IC Support Groups in the United States. We recognize the true value of a caring, encouraging support network for patients living with chronic illness. We are very grateful for the following people who give of themselves to try to meet this need for the IC patient community!

A word of caution: The IC Support Groups listed are not affiliated with the ICA. They are not monitored by the ICA and are usually managed by individuals on a volunteer basis. Any medical treatments discussed in the context of a support group meeting should not be undertaken without the guidance of a medical professional. All treatments of any kind, whether traditional or alternative, should be thoroughly discussed with an attending physician before beginning such treatments. Independent IC Support Groups may vary greatly in terms of style and content. The ICA encourages all patients to continually educate themselves on IC and become knowledgeable medical consumers!
