Matching Gifts & Workplace Giving
Interstitial cystitis (IC) can be
your workplace giving cause! It’s easy!
Ask your human resources staff for information about how to help people with IC
by giving to the Interstitial Cystitis Association
(ICA) through your
employer’s donation campaign. Talk with your spouse, family and friends and ask
them to add the ICA to their workplace donor card.
Look for the ICA in your campaign
brochure or on your company's

website. Can’t find the listing for the ICA? Write-in:

Many state and local governments make it easy for their staff to give to
the Interstitial Cystitis Association through employee charitable campaigns.
Private companies also often have their own corporate giving programs. Some
organizations work through groups like the United Way to allow their team to
make donations to charities their favorite charities. Check with your human resources staff to
learn more about how to make the Interstitial Cystitis
Association your favorite charity!
Give freely and with
confidence that your contribution will be spent on IC advocacy, research, and
education initiatives. The ICA is the
only IC dedicated charity that has been vetted and approved by the
Federal and state governments for tax-deductible, charitable contributions.
Talk with your spouse,
family and friends and ask them to contribute to the ICA through their workplace
donation campaigns.
Matching Gifts
& Employer Donations
Ask
your employer to make a donation to help fight interstitial cystitis (IC).
Nearly 10,000 companies in the US and organizations generously offer matching
gift programs. Sometimes even companies without formal programs contribute to
charitable organizations in which employees are involved. Please check with
your human resources staff. Find out if your organization has a workplace
donation campaign!
Don’t
miss out. Ask your employer about matching your donation. Double or even triple
the power of your contribution! And, fuel the cause and support Interstitial
Cystitis Association (ICA) programs and services helping IC patients receive
optimal care with dignity.
How
does it work? Usually employees
make donations through payroll to US-based charitable organizations (like the
ICA). Many companies will then donate corporate funds to the charities
employees support through those payroll donations. Sometimes companies commit to donating a
certain dollar amount; other groups contribute a matching gift which is a
percentage of your donation. Either way, it’s a great way to get more “bang for
your buck” in the fight to stamp out IC.

- Online shopping programs such as
Amazon—they make a contribution to the ICA when you make a purchase through the
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Reading Lists.
Also check out eBay Giving Works and search engine donation programs.
- Many employers have local, regional or
national grant programs for charities.
If your employer has one, please let us know. We will be happy to submit
a grant request to help interstitial cystitis (IC) patients and their families.
Send an email to ICAmail@ichelp.org with the name of the company and any
information you have about the grant program.
School, Local Government & State Employee Charitable
Campaigns
Many
state governments make it easy for their staff to give to the Interstitial
Cystitis Association through annual giving programs. This may include employees
of state agencies, junior and community colleges, and universities. Ask the
human resources department if you are able to contribute via an automated
payroll deduction.
United Way
Lots of companies
offer their employees the option of giving through the United Way. Though we
are not a United Way agency, the ICA is an approved charity for many United Way
agencies and does receive gifts through the United Way donor designation
program. After United Way administrative
fees are taken out, about 75 to 90 percent of your total contribution is
received by the ICA.
- Can my United Way donation go towards my ICA membership?
Unfortunately, as of January 1, 2010, contributions
made through the United Way cannot be credited to membership. The ICA is not
able to track United Way donations by individual contributor.
Together we can conquer
IC. Together we can change lives.
If you prefer to send us a check, please print out and complete this ICA donation form. Make check payable to:
